The two categories of medical theory and teachings referred to here are Chinese medicine and Daoist medicine.  Each offers a unique window into health and healing, yet both involve an energetic perspective requiring deep cultivation, practice, and experience.

Daoist medicine, in the context of these teachings, will focus on the energetic and spiritual cultivation of the practitioner.  One of Ross’ lineages is a Thunder medicine lineage which requires deep cultivation of energy to be able to impart that for the purpose of healing.  Thunder medicine includes the use of talismanic healing and incantation.  Zhuyou medicine is a hybrid of talismanic healing with principles of Chinese medicine as well as incantation.
